Ingredients:
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup unsalted cashews
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Mix the hoisin sauce, sesame oil, oyster sauce, and soy sauce in a small bowl
Put aside
In a big skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over high heat
Stir-fry the chopped ginger and garlic in the heated oil for 30 seconds, or until aromatic
Stir-fry the thinly sliced beef for two to three minutes, or until it starts to brown
Add pepper and salt for seasoning
To the wok, add the onion, bell peppers both green and red, and slices
Allow the vegetables to soften for a further two to three minutes while stirring them
Cover the beef and vegetables with the sauce mixture
To evenly coat everything, give it a good stir
To the wok, add the cashews and red pepper flakes
Stir-fry for an additional two to three minutes, or until the cashews are lightly toasted, the beef is cooked to your preference, and the sauce has thickened
If needed, adjust the seasoning by tasting it
Take off the heat and serve hot with cooked noodles or rice
If preferred, garnish with additional cashews and sliced green onions
